Tucked away in the heart of downtown Columbus, Georgia, is the Illges House. From the tall white columns, crown molding, vaulted ceilings, and of course the gorgeous front porch this house screams everything southern. In fact, Shannon’s great grandmother actually grew up in the beautiful historic home. How incredible is that? Shannon and her bridesmaids decided the Illges House would be the perfect getting ready location. Once, Shannon was dressed she walked to the garden to see her groom for the first time on her wedding day. When Andrew turned around and saw his stunning bride-to-be all the nerves went away and it was smiles from then on. When the bridal party arrived the fun began. After, the portraits, we all went to the church to witness Andrew and Shannon say, ” I do!”
Time stopped as soon as the church doors opened and everyone saw Shannon and her Grandfather in the doorway. Tears began to fill eyes all around the room as we watched Shannon’s Grandfather walk her down the aisle. Andrew was waiting for his beautiful bride at the alter. After they joined hands, the couple said vows in front of God, family, and their friends. Once they sealed their marriage with a kiss, it was time to celebrate the new couple at the Big Eddy Club.
Nestled on the edge of Lake Oliver, sits a country club surrounded by pine trees with a breathtaking view of the water. The Newlyweds and their guests arrived to the gorgeous venue for cocktail hour. Dinner was served, “Naughty Nash’s” were consumed, and many laughs were exchanged. The band played and everyone danced the night away. At the end of the evening, Mr. and Mrs. Hamric were showered in lavender and exited in a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air.
